Notification.
The Jewish Community of Berlin Mr./Mrs./Miss______________________________ Transport No.______________________ Re: emigration The authorities have ordered your emigration to the Protectorate [the region of Bohemia and Moravia - formerly Czechoslovakia]. The order is valid for you and your wife… Baggage to be taken is to include baggage for the voyage and hand luggage. In what regards the baggage for the voyage, one big suitcase is permitted, and one backpack, which may reach at most from the shoulder to the hip. As it is impossible to transport the luggage at the time you will be taken from your apartment, the baggage is to be delivered on _____between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the following clothing distribution point [of the Jewish Aid Association]. Hand luggage: only one piece may be taken, with items for the night, one blanket, a food container, spoon, cup and food. The total luggage to be taken may not exceed the weight of 50 Kg.! Whoever does not adhere to this order will have to consider the loss of his luggage. On _______after _____________a.m. an official will seal your apartment. You must be ready at this time. Keys to the apartment and the rooms have to be handed over to the official. You yourselves will be brought to the assembly point at ______________ by a car supplied by us for that purpose. All existing bank saving books etc., shares that are not deposited in the bank, mortgage certificates, or other bank documents - in short, all documentation regarding your assets and keys to a safe should you have one, are to be handed over in an unsealed envelope at the assembly point. Your name, address and transport numbers are to be noted on the envelope. We will take care of food during the stay at the assembly point and during the train voyage. However, you should bring whatever food you have at home, especially sandwiches, in your hand luggage. There will be medical teams and nurses present at the assembly point and during the train voyage. The supply of necessary medication during the trip will be undertaken solely by the medical teams. It is absolutely forbidden to send written or oral messages from the assembly point, or to ask the personnel there to make any arrangements! An information circular is enclosed, which includes all relevant instructions. We cordially ask you to follow all these instructions to the letter and to make all the preparations for the transport maintaining calm and presence of mind. The members of our community affected by the emigration should be aware that they can contribute decisively to the smooth conclusion of the transport by their personal conduct and their orderly adherence to all instructions. Information Circular for the participants of an emigration transport.
The following instructions are to be followed to the letter by every participant in the transports. Documents to be left behind: Transport participants may deposit personal documents, such as birth, marriage and death certificates with the Jewish Community (Archive). These documents are to be sent or brought to the district offices of the community or handed over directly to the archive in an unsealed envelope. The transport number, first and last name, last address and a list of the included documents are to be noted on the envelope. A receipt for the deposited documents will be issued. Identity cards (or alien passes for stateless persons) are not to be deposited; they are to be taken along.

Objects to be taken Clothing for travel. The outfit for the trip is to include:
Jewish stars are to be tightly sewn on, as indicated by the orders, not only to the coats, but also to the suits or dresses worn during the trip. The Jewish stars are to be removed from all the clothes that will not be taken along, and sewn to as many clothes taken along as possible. The weight of the luggage to be taken along may under no circumstances exceed 50 Kg per participant. It may include one large suitcase, one backpack, and one piece of hand luggage, which must include one blanket. No objects made of china or glass may be taken along. Great care is to be taken in choosing the objects to be taken along, as nothing may be removed from the apartment once it is sealed. Hand luggage: hand luggage may include: washing gear, thermoses, bottles, playing cards, a towel and handkerchiefs, a pillow, a kitchen towel, slippers, spoons (no knives or forks!), toilet-paper, a pair of socks, a pan or unbreakable plate. It is forbidden under penalty of punishment to take money, saving account books or documents regarding assets owned, valuables or jewellery or ration cards on the transport. It is forbidden to take medication in the hand luggage. Any medication, with the exception of poisons, may be taken in the voyage luggage. Voyage luggage: voyage luggage is luggage such as a suitcase or a backpack. This luggage may include: For Men: For Women: [list of clothing items] It may include in addition: Linen, bed-sheets, handkerchiefs, towels, Umbrella, shoe polish, kitchen towels, rags, Clothes brush, cards for play, cotton wool, books, Paper towels, extra pair of glasses, toilet paper… The following may be taken: Small tools, razors, sewing gear, scissors, flashlight, matches, powder against insects, medication (except poisons). Those items listed last according to the regulations may be taken in the voyage luggage, but not in the hand luggage. Marking of the Luggage: Each piece of luggage is to be clearly marked on the outside by a card with the transport number, the first and last name of the owner and his last address, according to the following example: Transport number 2165 Karl Israel Mueller Berlin W 15 5 Meinecke Street. The baggage itself may not be marked. In addition, the transport number and owner's name are to be marked on the inside of the luggage. A luggage label is to be secured with a piece of wire, possibly on both sides to every piece of luggage, to be marked according to the above sample. It is recommended that the luggage be tied with a solid string or strap, in case the handles break. The keys to the luggage are to be put on one ring and marked with the transport number and name of owner…. Order regarding the ownership of movable assets by Jews The order regarding the ownership of movable assets by Jews published in the circular of the Reichsvereinigung of the Jews in Germany on 1 December 1941, is to be followed concerning all objects that were not surrendered or that are not taken along.
